The Proclaimers

The chances of Scottish band The Proclaimers having another hit the size of “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” are basically nonexistent, but twin brothers Craig and Charlie Reid keep plugging away. The song itself was actually a hit twice: once in 1988, and again in 1993, when it appeared on the Benny & Joon soundtrack. The group lay dormant for about seven years before returning with Persevere in 2001, and has steadily recorded and released new material about every other year since then. The brothers are out now behind their eighth studio album, Notes & Rhymes, a solid effort which expectedly doesn’t stray too far from the safe sounds of poppy, adult-contemporary rock.
