The Projection People
The Projection People combine members of two local acts who’ve been earning more attention lately—instrumental rockers Revolving Doors and electronica weirdoes The Cemetery Improvement Society—with some folks from the late local band Middleworld. So naturally, the sound has some unusual elements, building morose yet likable pop songs out of gloomy synths and some nice interplay from guitarists Marc Claggett and Scott Cannaday. The band, which has been working on an album for a while now, manages to skirt around the usual synth-pop trends to create something that’s a little tweaky and a little down-to-earth, rounding out its sound with Tyler Commo’s earnest vocals.
