The Raconteurs
A supergroup that actually deserves the prefix, The Raconteurs surprised a lot of people with 2006’s excellent Broken Toy Soldiers, and then surprised pretty much everyone by waiting until the last possible second to announce the arrival of its 2008 follow-up, Consolers Of The Lonely. Like Toy Soldiers, the second album perfectly matches Jack White’s blues with Brendan Benson’s power-pop and The Greenhornes’ garage-rock fixation.
