The Ready Set

The blasted brainchild of Jordan Witzigreuter, the 22-year-old pride of Fort Wayne, Indiana, The Ready Set burned up the charts with the confounding “Love Like Woe,” a piece of post-Bieber puppy-love pandering that’s part emo, part pop-reggae, and all asexual. It’s like a musical version of a Zhu Zhu Pet. Maybe for continuity sake, a few bars from “Love Like Woe” bleep out of a cell phone in the beginning of the video for “More Than Alive,” also from 2010’s I’m Alive, I’m Dreaming. But judging by his club banger of a single “Young Forever,” Witzigreuter’s less concerned with consistency and more with singing any pop genre the studio’s computer can spit out.
