The Sklar Brothers

There aren’t a lot of identical twins who are also stand-up comedy teams, but given how hilarious the deadpan Sklar Brothers are, there ought to be more of them. Randy and Jason Sklar effortlessly volley riffs back and forth in a way that seems natural for twins—finishing each other’s sentences and anticipating each other’s thoughts with uncanny instinct. The creepy spectacle of twin comedians is somewhat easier to digest on CD: 2007’s Sklar Maps features memorable ruminations on classic-rock station ads and why Andrew “Dice” Clay is a sad, sad man. The pair’s latest endeavor is Sklarbro Country, a quick-hits style podcast that celebrates the oddities of the sports world. The twins have also recorded their third stand-up special, Hendersons And Daughters, whose familial title extends the Sklarbro Country call to arms: “Henderson!”
