The Slits

One of the bands on which the whole legend of late-’70s post-punk lies, The Slits came up as four teenage girls who spat and brooded over hypnotic, fractious rock marked in part by reggae. The group’s Ari Up has stayed on the scene to a certain degree by herself, but she teamed up with fellow Slit Tessa Pollitt in 2006 for Revenge Of The Killer Slits, a surprisingly good EP that stood as The Slits’ only new material in two decades. Now comes Trapped Animal, a new full-length album put out by Narnack.
