Artist The White White Lights

  • The White White Lights Daniel Perlaky

Despite being relatively young, The White White Lights demonstrate an unusually mature touch, draping vocalist Jenny Gacy’s haunted growls and methadone croons in lightly realized swirls of guitar or wintry keyboard textures—and just when it seems like floating is all it can do, it breaks into dance-rock showers. The first recorded evidence of these abilities, the new Medium Head Boy EP (dig the State reference, guys), collects six songs that the band has wielded with room-crushing force over the last year and a half, from the sci-fi herk-and-jerk of "Space Invaders" to the glassy chill of "It's Cold Here In Japan."
