The-Dream
The-Dream is probably still better known as a superstar producer than as a solo artist, crafting enormous hits for Rihanna (“Umbrella”), Mariah Carey (“Touch My Body”), and Beyoncé (“Single Ladies”). But he’s still committed to securing his own place in the spotlight, and he has a good shot at snaring it, what with his 2009 record, Love Vs. Money, being one of that year’s best and most continually rewarding albums. Featuring guest work from Kanye West, Carey, and Lil John, it’s still the main man who shines. Clearly, The-Dream is smart enough to hold some of his best stuff for himself. That’s a good thing, considering he has plans to release three albums this year—The Love IV, Persona of Love, and Nikki—all of which promise to be jam packed with guests.
