Thee Oh Sees
After pretty much ruling as the frontman of the garage-rocking Coachwhips and the costumed noise cell known as Pink And Brown—both of whose chaotic shows are the stuff of legend—singer-guitarist John Dwyer started raising a different kind of racket with his band Thee Oh Sees, a.k.a. The Ohsees, formerly known as OCS, and so on. The enterprise began as a solo project and has since expanded, with an ear for collages that precariously balance pop accessibility with Dwyer’s nuttiness. In May 2011, the band added Castlemania to its hefty discography of demo comps, live discs, and 7-inches. Unrelenting, Thee Oh Sees’ latest record, Carrion Crawler/The Dream, was released in late 2011 on In The Red.
