Thenewno2

After studying at Brown University to become an aerodynamicist, Dhani Harrison entered the professional music world with contributions to remasters of albums from the Traveling Wilburys and his pop George Harrison. He even had the opportunity to record with Jeff Lynne to complete the late Beatles' unfinished final album. Such is the privilege of being the son of a Beatle, and so when Harrison started Thenewno2 with childhood friend Oliver Hecks, it offered him a chance to operate without the clout of his famous last name. The band takes its title from the surreal British secret agent series The Prisoner and even sounds like the soundtrack to some lost spy thriller. But the swirling synths and moody guitar of their 2008 debut, You Are Here, owe just as much to the dark melodies and synthetic beats of fellow Brits like Massive Attack and Primal Scream.
