Theophilus London

While Theophilus London might not be a household name yet, he’s got a great publicist at the very least. His urban electro-pop debut, Timez Are Weird These Days, came out last summer and, all of the sudden, dude was everywhere. From a slot on The Late Show With David Letterman to a spread in Wired, London got a lot of hype for a guy with no big radio single or who wasn’t a shitty, L.A.-based crew of semi-okay teenage rappers. London’s talented, for sure—“Why Even Try” featuring Sara Quin of Tegan And Sara is a standout track—but it’s anyone’s guess as to whether he’ll weather the hype machine long enough to avoid a sophomore slump.
