They Might Be Giants
Never underestimate the power of Johns Flansburgh and Linnell. As the perennial geek-rock favorites They Might Be Giants, the duo has been poking at polka-punk, accordion jams, and nerdy pop nuggets for almost 30 years. Though the group’s 120 Minutes-era prime is long gone, Linnell and Flansburgh have kept more than busy in the past few years, cranking out new albums both for children (Here Come The ABCs, Here Come The 123s) and regular folks, including 2011’s Join Us, which maintains Linnell and Flansburgh as geek-rock explorers of the highest order. Then, of course, there are classics like “Put Your Hand Inside The Puppet Head” and “Ana Ng,” among many more.
