Artist This Moment In Black History
Cleveland’s This Moment In Black History used to practice a high-strung hybrid of hardcore and strangled garage akin to Houston’s Fatal Flying Guilloteens, all barely contained frantic bursts of feedbacking guitar and berserk stage shows. It still does, to a certain extent—and frenetic frontman Chris Kulcsar still burns thousands of calories per show—but the band's lately been experimenting with showing off the soul-burnished grooves behind its powerful sound, while retaining the politically charged prankishness that made releases like 2006’s It Takes A Nation Of Assholes To Hold Us Back and last year’s “Obama” single so much fun.
