Three 6 Mafia has grown from selling handmade mix-tapes in Memphis to topping the hip-hop charts to winning an Oscar for 2005’s “It’s Hard Out Here For A Pimp.” The group doesn’t shy away from dark beats and violent material—there’s a reason for those three sixes—but just as often it’ll toss out a danceable surprise like the 2008 hit, “Lolli Lolli (Pop That Body).” After Three 6 Mafia’s ninth album, Last 2 Walk, the group reunited with founding member Lord Infamous and began working on new material.
