Tig Notaro
Low-key comedian Tig Notaro at times comes across like the unlikely spawn of Bob Newhart and Ellen DeGeneres while reflecting upon her bizarre childhood, marrying the deadpan delivery of the former with the gently baffled observational humor of the latter. It’s a style that’s found her fans within comedy circles (Sarah Silverman is a friend and perpetual champion) and without (Good One, Notaro’s debut album is the first comedy release from venerable indie imprint Secretly Canadian.) While still working on the pilot for her Logo talk show Tig Has Friends, another career milestone that would tie Notaro to the lineage of DeGeneres, Good One has just been released.
