Tim Easton
After his first band, The Haynes Boys, split in the mid-’90s, Tim Easton pursued a countryish singer-songwriter path, while his former bandmates went on to form punk bands Gaunt and Thomas Jefferson Slave Apartments. Easton stayed off the punk path, releasing rootsy records like 2006’s Ammunition and 2009’s Porcupine, and occasionally enlisting the help of Lucinda Williams and backing players from Bonnie Raitt and Jackson Browne’s bands. Easton takes equal inspiration from his nomadic, often-international travels, and new, electric backing band The Freeland Barons for his self-released fifth album, Beat The Band.
