Artist Tim Reynolds & TR3

Most people know Tim Reynolds only as Dave Matthews’ complementary guitar virtuoso and frequent collaborator, yet his 35-plus-year career got its start in the mid-’80s as the eponymous member of the Tim Reynolds Trio (TR3). Featuring a rotating roster of musicians, Reynolds and his crew fused jazz, funk, and rock until the mid-’90s, when he disbanded the group to embark on a solo career and play with Matthews. It was only recently that he reformed the TR3 with bass player Mick Vaughn and drummer Dan Martie, and in 2009 the group released Radiance, its first album in 14 years. This year’s hideously titled From Space And Beyond is yet another live record from the group which has made the majority of its cred out on the road.
