Something like an Asia for the Alternative Nation set, Tinted Windows is a “supergroup” featuring Fountain Of Wayne’s Adam Schlesinger and Taylor “MMMBop” Hanson. A mutual love of vintage power-pop and The Knack united them with former Smashing Pumpkins guitarist James Iha and Cheap Trick drummer Bun E. Carlos, and the group began cranking out its own fuzz-laden rock candy earlier this year. Understandably, the WTF? novelty of seeing these performers on one stage is the real draw, but infectious lead single “Kind Of A Girl” (from a self-titled album dropping in April) has its own considerable hook.
