Tiny Vipers

Tiny Vipers is the stage name adopted by Seattle singer-songwriter Jesy Fortino, whose warbly voice and sometimes-atonal acoustic-guitar flourishes straddle the divide between sparse folk and brooding goth on 2009’s sweeping, ambitious Sub Pop release, Life On Earth. Making good use of space while highlighting Fortino's Nico-esque incantations, Tiny Vipers' music is a haunting thing, to be sure—a minimalist abyss that not only stares back, but also gets under your skin with the greatest of ease.
