Artist Toubab Krewe

Sure to disappoint those expecting a Middle Eastern 2 Live Crew cover band, Toubab Krewe is an only occasionally bearded instrumental rock quintet that hails from North Carolina. Still, the group’s name does carry a certain international promise, delivered through the Malian instruments and polyrhythmic percussion in its good old American jamming. On its 2009 disc, Live At The Orange Peel, the band takes a few minutes to establish a groove and a couple more to layer and explore, as is the case with the 2010 full-length, TK2.
