Artist Treaty Of Paris

  • Treaty Of Paris

Little did the signers of the 1783 Treaty of Paris know that more than 200 years later, some punk-pop band would use that moniker to push its sugary anthems and sing about “aching when your body’s next to me.” (John Adams must be rolling in his grave.) Sure, Treaty Of Paris’ name makes no sense considering the band simply plays straight-up, guitar-driven pop without a hint of antiquity, but whatever: With agreeable melodies and choruses aimed at the heart, the group is likeably predictable, the type that throws handclaps and “woos!” in songs because we want and expect that. A new EP, Currents, came out in early 2010.
