Twiztid

Twiztid

Popular almost exclusively because of its ties to Insane Clown Posse (still reading?), Twiztid is also a duo, also comes from Detroit, also sports clown makeup and vaguely badass aliases—Jamie Madrox and Monoxide—and also has little to offer the world musically. (Then again, jaded critics used to say the same thing about Kiss.) The act’s rap style aligns with the usual horrorcore themes of violence and fantasy, with songs about murder, mutants, and doing it on the first date. Since Mostasteless, Twiztid’s 1997 debut on the ICP-founded Psychopathic Records, the two have toured heavily and built a feverishly devoted fan base. Seven more records have followed, and 2010’s Heartbroken & Homicidal continues to deliver on Twiztid’s warped, scary-rapper shtick.
