Two Cow Garage

Ohio-based outfit Two Cow Garage plays country-tinged rock driven by Rust Belt desperation, as evidenced by the title of its 2002 debut, Please Turn The Gas Back On. The 2008 release Speaking In Cursive wears its debt to Uncle Tupelo and Say What You Will…-era Soul Asylum on its sleeve, but does credit to them both, staying intelligent while examining a smattering of serious subjects. Its follow-up, Sweet Saint Me, continues in the same vein with a mix of quieter acoustic material and full-out rockers. Now officially adopted sons of Suburban Home Records—where Austin Lucas, Drag The River, and Tim Barry help drunken punk meet dejected Americana—the band has a built-in fanbase.
