Upright Citizens Brigade
Like a little brother self-conscious about living in the shadow of the comedy institution Second City, Chicago sketch group Upright Citizens Brigade took the first Greyhound to New York, set up shop in a former strip club, and carved out a reputation for the edgiest comedy on the East Coast. After mutating into an unjustly canceled TV show, the Upright Citizens Brigade touring company began sending the best and brightest improv minds out into the world to spread the gospel of "Yes, and." The rotating cast specializes in often-risky long-form improvisation, but comedy newbies shouldn't balk: The teams' pedigrees are firmly established, and all received intensive training by UCB senior staff, which has included the likes of Amy Poehler and Horatio Sanz.
