Van Morrison
Van Morrison needs no introduction, unless the oldest record in your collection is OK Computer, in which case 2007's Still On Top—The Greatest Hits will come in handy. The inveterate singer-songwriter continues to garner praise for his live performances more than 40 years after getting his start in the Belfast band Them, and his list of good songs measures as long as anyone's. Morrison put out a country-covers collection in 2006 called Pay The Devil and followed it up last year with the original-material Keep It Simple, all while also dedicating certain shows to his classic Astral Weeks.
