Artist Westside Andy And Mel Ford Band

Strolling out on stage all well-groomed and tucked-in, one might make the mistake of thinking Westside Andy is just messing around, taking a break from his day job. But the blues is his day job, and his devotion comes pouring through the thick tones of his harmonica. Still, his spotlight playing wouldn’t have much to stand on if not for the solid foundation laid by guitarist/vocalist Mel Ford and the rest of the band, and the blues wouldn’t fall so favorably on so many local ears if the Westside Andy And Mel Ford Band didn’t do such a wonderful job of walking the line between authenticity and accessibility, as displayed on the group’s 2007 album, Alley Cat.
