Something of a Buster Poindexter for the Nickelback set, Mondo Primo frontman Adam Andersen’s Wicked Celtics combines all the worst aspects of so-called “butt rock”—misdirected aggression, back-of-the-throat vocals, hideously sculpted facial hair—with a zeal for shilling. In a series of hilarious low-budget videos, Celtics has given his leather-clad stamp of approval to the Boston Celtics, the iPhone, and the calorie-roasting benefits of Wii Fit, becoming a minor Internet sensation in the process. It’s not exactly the timeliest joke, but Andersen executes it with a straight-faced conviction that helpfully obscures the fact that he doesn’t exactly share a vocal range with Scott Stapp and the like.
