Will Durst

Political satirist Will Durst’s blue-collar liberal sensibilities have earned him critical raves and lots of appearances as a TV stand-up and nationally renowned essayist. He’s also a regular commentator for CNN and NPR, and in 2008 turned his one-man show, The All-American Sport Of Bipartisan Bashing, into a book. Like other lefty-minded satirists, Durst has had to adjust from taking easy shots at the Bush administration to heckling the Obama administration—but he’s managed. In a 2009 column, Durst expressed some cynical glee over the president's Supreme Court nomination: “What a genius political move it was. Sonia Sotomayor: a woman AND a Hispanic… Regrettably, it looks like the search for an albino midget lesbian unwed Buddhist Bangladeshi mother with a bum leg and lycanthropy fell just a wee bit short.”
