Yelle

Yelle

Prone to bright colors and infectious dance jams, France’s Yelle first found notoriety with the release of a song called “Short Dick Cuizi”—by 2007, the song was reworked under the title “Je Veux Te Voir,” and it sliced into the Billboard European Hot 100. The early hit appeared on Yelle’s first record, Pop Up, and thereafter the band was booking tours with Passion Pit and soundtracking commercials for The Gap and scenes on Entourage. Following a U.K. tour with bra innovator Katy Perry, Yelle now sets its sights on the U.S. via the release of its latest LP, Safari Disco Club, another glossy set of club tracks highlighted by the kitchen sink-percussion of the title track, the synth-washed “Que Veux-Tu,” and slinky anthem “La Musique.”
