Yes
Anyone who’s spent too much time trolling through record store crates can identify Yes albums on sight. The band’s name comes rendered in bubble font, the scenes tend toward natural formations, fractals, and outer space, and the hues—like the post-apocalyptic landscapes—are all but radioactive. Yes’ virtuoso prog-rock follows in kind: For more than 40 years, the British band has specialized in the sort of breathless, tongue-twisted tunes that work best as background music to laser shows and magic mushrooms. The latest iteration of the band sees Oliver Wakeman replacing his legendary father Rick on keyboards, and vocalist Benoit David migrating from a cover band called Close To The Edge to something quite a bit closer to the real thing.
