Yo La Tengo

Yo La Tengo’s more than 25-year run is an open parenthesis in a world that can’t decide between feedback-cracked dissonance and classy chill-outs. Whichever sound is considered more cutting-edge or stylish at the moment, the Hoboken, N.J. trio comfortably outpaces most bands at both, not to mention plenty of sonic territory in between. Given the band’s history of years in the van together, it’s surely time to spice things up. Thus, the current tour’s insane “Wheel Of Fortune” concept: Each night, the band will play two back-to-back sets, with the first being decided by one fan’s flick of a giant wheel. Audiences could end up seeing the band act out a sitcom, play songs from various side projects, or only sing songs that start with the letter “S.”
