Zomes

Zomes is the solo project of Philadelphian Asa Osborne, a former Lungfisher with a new album on Thrill Jockey titled Earth Grid. With cassette-looped beats, electric guitar, and a classic Casio keyboard, Osborne skeletally reduces his compositions with refreshing, and surprisingly pop-centric, results. By undermining conventional pop’s insistence on overproduction, he celebrates the minimal structure hiding beneath the genre’s gimmicky veneer.
