Dane Cook at Frank Erwin Center
The fact that Dane Cook easily fills sports arenas says everything about the comedian’s rapid rise to rock-star status. By building a rabid fan base through MySpace (he currently has more than 2.5 million “friends”), he burst out of the gates and onto a new plateau of overexposure with a jockish humor that revels in jokes about being out at “the club” with your bros. He nosedived trying to pull off leading-man roles in romantic comedies like My Best Friend’s Girl and Good Luck Chuck, and returns now to his bread and butter with a large-scale tour supporting a Comedy Central special and a new CD, both titled Isolated Incident.
