Exploding Plastic Inevitable 2009: Andy Warhol's Birthday Party at Mohawk Patio

Brian Eno once said that everyone who bought a Velvet Underground album started a band; similarly, everyone who’s ever worshipped Andy Warhol has tried throwing a Factory party. Few get it right, but the Mohawk will come awfully close as it celebrates the artist's birthday by decking the club in silver balloons and stacks of Brillo boxes and throwing a “Factory Person Look-A-Like Contest.” Local screen-printers and stop-motion animators will be on hand to help partygoers create their own works of industrialized art, while fashionistas Team Fabrication spin inside and Psych Fest veterans Smoke And Feathers and PJ And The Bear warm up the stage for ersatz VU tribute act, Edie’s Revenge. Other than candy bowls full of Quaaludes and impromptu orgies in the bathroom (we think), it’s a veritable carbon copy of the original. Warhol would love it.
