Goodie Mob and Scarface at Emo's

Along with OutKast, Atlanta’s Goodie Mob proved that hip-hop wasn’t just an East Coast/West Coast affair—it was also deep in the heart of the “dirty South,” a term the group coined on its landmark 1995 debut, Soul Food. Even more inventive was Goodie Mob’s combination of streetwise swagger with gospel-influenced spirituality, embodied in the vocal hooks of breakout star Cee-Lo (who’s lately enjoyed a prolific career both solo and as a member of Gnarls Barkley). He reunites here with Big Gipp, Khujo, and T-Mo for Goodie Mob’s first tour dates in 10 years. Opener Scarface also helped establish Southern hip-hop as the standout member of Geto Boys, and has developed a reputation as one of rap’s most literate, passionate giants. To win tickets to this event, email austinpromo@theonion.com
