The Lovemakers, The Personal Victories Of George Quartz, and DJ Sober at Stubb's Jr.
Their name is a little outmoded now that core creative duo Lisa Light and Scott Blonde are no longer romantically involved, but San Francisco electro-rock band The Lovemakers are still making synth-pop sexily enough to keep their moniker. Despite the wildly catchy single “Prepare For The Fight,” The Lovemakers were ultimately unable to turn their 2005 major-label debut, Times Of Romance, into major-league popularity, later parting ways with Interscope. Light and Blonde dusted themselves off and went the indie route, issuing the Misery Loves Company EP with S.F. label Fuzz in 2007; they're back now with the self-released Let’s Be Friends, another set of '80s-inspired dance music full of over-the-top sensuality.
