Newswire Andrew Bird releases fairly hideous new album art, lovely album trailer

Andrew Bird’s latest, Break It Yourself, will hit stores March 6, but Paste posted the record’s cover and a 33-second teaser for the album today.

The art, which is a little referential of The Smiths and fairly hideous, features some poor font choices and an old-timey, sepia-toned picture of a kid playing in some dirt. The teaser, by contrast, is quite lovely and was filmed while Bird and crew were recording the album at the whistler’s farmhouse in Western Illinois. In it, we see Bird and his bandmates rehearsing a very Iron And Wine-ish song, encouraging a fictional boy to “say something dumb.”
