Just Announced Archers Of Loaf announce reunion tour

Archers Of Loaf’s out-of-nowhere reunion gig this past January had many, including The A.V. Club, asking, “Is this just a one-off?” The quartet’s subsequent addition to Sasquatch 2011’s “noise” and “angularity” quotients provided an answer—though it was an answer registered as an era-appropriate shrug as far as a full-fledged tour was concerned.

Now, however, there’s a definitive reply: On May 21, Archers Of Loaf kicks off a reunion tour in its home state of North Carolina, later hitting both coasts, some Southern destinations, and a single Midwestern city. (It’s Chicago, duh.) But take heart, Archers fans in un-Archers-serviced parts of the country: Eric Bachmann and company are no longer the brash youngsters who helped establish Chapel Hill, North Carolina as an indie-rock hotbed, so every date on the tour is a weekend date, making the whole thing entirely road-trippable.
