Local Newswire Are Daft Punk, Skrillex, and more playing Soldier Field this summer?

A Live Music Blog screencap

Are Skrillex, Daft Punk, and a bunch of other electronic musicians coming to Chicago this summer? Live Music Blog, a blog about, uh, live music, seems to think so. Writer Nick Isasi stumbled across an incomplete website for something called the Spring Awakening Fest, supposedly happening June 16 and 17 at Soldier Field. This news should absolutely thrill tens of thousands of MDMA-fueled suburban teenagers in string headbands and bikini tops.

Though there’s a placeholder site online now, the Live Music Blog writer found a site with information like artists, ticket prices, and more. That website said Skrillex is set to headline—Really? Headline?—and artists like Daft Punk, Dada Life, Laidback Luke, and Afrojack will fill out the lineup. Tickets will be $90 for a two-day pass.

Live Music Blog’s investigating also turned up a Twitter account, a Facebook page, and some links to React Presents, which is a promotions company in Chicago that has done shows by Skrillex and other electronic artists. Zach Partin, who works for React, tells The A.V. Club to "expect an official announcement from React in the next two weeks."
