A.V. Video: Behind the scenes of “Luma’s Corner”

Logan Square hot spot Lula is going as Kuma’s for Halloween

We suspect these are around because owls are the indiest of animals.

Love Kuma’s Corner, but wish they could do a little more than just “metal” themed burgers? Well, Christmas came early this year: To celebrate Halloween, Lula Cafe will transform into Luma’s Corner, an indie-music themed burger joint inspired by Kuma’s.

On Saturday night, Luma’s will be serving up meals inspired and curated by indie rock musicians. One evening isn’t enough time to feast upon all of the delectable—and, in the case of Tim Kinsella’s meatless creation, quizzical—offerings on the menu. So, if you plan on making it down to Luma’s on Saturday, it’s best to come prepared.

Fortunately, The A.V. Club spoke to Lula Cafe owner and chef Jason Hammel about the restaurant’s Halloween celebration, the idea for this year’s “costume,” and just what the mysterious Disappears-inspired burger is all about. Take a look at the video below while we keep our fingers crossed that there will be a hip-hop hamburger hut opening soon.
