Over time the phrase “Let your freak flag fly” has, by ubiquitous use, become a somewhat trite way of saying “Be yourself!” With all of the Lady Gaga wannabes in the world, it’s a bit more difficult to make waves in freakdom, but an upcoming freak show will surpass all bizarre expectations of what it means to be weird. The Carnival Of Curiosity And Chaos shows for one night only at Greenhouse Theater Center Feb. 20.
For just $20, attendees can feast their eyes on freaks galore performing feats that would horrify your grandparents. The advertised talents range from freak-show staples like the bed of nails to more risqué oddities like balloon kama sutra. Filling two hours, the Carnival Of Curiosity And Chaos is only for individuals 18 and up, although arguably no one has a high enough maturity level to watch “deep throat balloon burlesque” without letting loose a few awkward chuckles.
