Belly Up: Free Kuma's and a beer festival
No related
Kuma's Corner knows how to do us right for its fourth birthday--a block party this Saturday with free food and music. The Facebook event lists more than 500 people as confirmed guests, so show up early and prep your crowd elbows to grab the free hot dogs and brats. Once you've had your fill of free food, head down to Soldier Field for AleFest. Forty bucks will buy you a glass, 20 samples, and a tasting guide, but with more than 200 craft beers to choose from, take a few minutes to study up first. Make sure to try at least one of the ReplicAles--the 12 varieties of Belgian Witbier on hand were made special by members of the Illinois Craft Brewers Guild. In other beer offerings, Sunday night sees The Publican hosting Cleveland's Great Lakes Brewing Company for its monthly beer dinner series. The four-course, family-style meal is $45, but the beer pairings will set you back another $15-$20. Take a breather on Monday, and then belly up to the bar with Decider and The Onion on Tuesday. Beer's on us.
Fatsometer: 9. But don't worry; it's never swimsuit season in Chicago. Just pat that beer gut with love.
