Just Announced Ben Kweller announces new album and tour to go with it

After his 2009 album, Changing Horses, gone and went country, Ben Kweller seems to have made a follow-up, Go Fly A Kite, that will get back to the piano-driven pop of his previous efforts. At least that’s what we were able to ascertain from the somewhat disorienting first glimpse, “Heads & Tails,” which runs the intro and outro for each of the new album’s 11 tracks back to back.

In support of the new album—which will probably sound better when it comes out Feb. 7 and it’s not all chopped up and smashed together—Kweller is setting out on tour, beginning March 21 in Philadelphia and stopping in Chicago March 31. The album is available for pre-order on his website right now. Anyone eager enough to jump in early also gets a shot at winning the “golden laminate,” which gets its winner in free to every Ben Kweller show for life. You + Ben Kweller = eternity.
