Billy Corgan apparently really into professional wrestling now
First came news that Anthony Michael Hall would be appearing at Chicago’s own Comic-Con, Wizard World, doing his whole Anthony Michael Hall thing, and now comes news that Billy Corgan has been added to the ever more wacky docket in support of his “new position as creative director for the brand new wrestling promotion Resistance Pro.” Why not, right?
Resistance Pro promises to “change the face of professional wrestling as we know it,” which makes total sense, because Billy Corgan does not have—at least in our minds—any sort of professional wrestling face, despite what his last video might have suggested. According to Wizard World, Corgan has been a lifelong fan of professional wrestling, which holds up looking at his Twitter account, where he wrote a whole lot about this weekend’s pay-per-view event won by local grappler CM Punk, and laughs at people who have stopped following him because he “talk[s] too much about wrestling.”
As yet, it’s unclear what Corgan will be doing in his creative director role, but here’s hoping it involves him getting hit with a lot of chairs.
