Broken Social Scene, El-P, Panda Bear announced for Pitchfork Music Fest
In their established fashion of leaking a few bands every couple of weeks, Pitchfork announced today the next round of artists for the 2010 version of their festival, with Canadian collective Broken Social Scene, rapper El-P, and Animal Collective's Panda Bear bolstering the lineup. Those three join previously announced headliners Pavement, LCD Soundsystem, and Modest Mouse in the music fest, set for July 16-18 in Union Park. Other additions include The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion and mixtape rapper Freddie Gibbs. On the local front, young garage-pop upstarts The Smith Westerns, Latin psychedelic dream-poppers Allá, and Krautrock revisionists Cave all hail from Chicago. Three-day passes for the event sold out in less than a week, but single-day tickets are still available for $40.
