Newswire Buy the Home Alone house for just $2.4 million

A lovely cheese pizza, just for me.

For man-children stuck in adolescence, there’s never been a better time to buy a house in Chicago. While the Ferris Bueller mansion has been taken off the market after languishing unsold for some time, there’s a new prize piece up for sale: Kevin McAllister’s red-brick Georgian from Home Alone.

The 14-room, 4,250-square-foot cinematic landmark sits up in Winnetka, and is listed for a mere $2.4 million. Unfortunately, Micro Machines, paint cans on strings, and a Michael Jordan cardboard cutout are not included in the asking price, but anyone who can afford a $2.4 million house can probably afford some old paint.

The realtor, Coldwell Banker’s Marissa Hopkins, has made a whole website (and a Facebook page) devoted to the property, including a video tour. Viewers are encouraged to “leave [their] cares behind, not [their] family,” and are treated to a whole history of filming from the home’s current owners.
