Celebrate Don Cornelius tonight with a giant Soul Train line in Wicker Park
As many have already heard, native Chicagoan and Soul Train creator Don Cornelius died this morning at the age of 75 from an apparent suicide. While it’s sad that such an influential man left the world this way, plenty of Chicago residents are choosing to celebrate the soul man’s legacy through his biggest contribution: dance. Starting at 9:30 tonight, locals are planning to make a Soul Train line to end all Soul Train lines on Milwaukee Avenue, starting near the intersection of Damen and North.
Those who aren’t up to Soul Train caliber moves just yet can watch all of the goodness of soul dancing in person. To those who are able to make it, do us all a favor and record the inevitably awesome dancing that goes down.
