It’s tough for Chicagoans to admit that Wisconsin outdoes us in anything but beer, cheese, or fireworks. But the truth is, the Badger state could give us a master class on heartland American upscale dining, too—and this weekend, Chicago will get exactly that, as Kenmore Live Studio will host a live show celebrating the tradition and culture of Wisconsin supper clubs on Saturday, Jan. 7.

Holly De Ruyter, director of the affectionate, Kickstarter-funded documentary Old Fashioned: The Story of the Wisconsin Supper Club, will be on site to talk about the film as well as share some photos and footage. Additionally, a chef from The HobNob supper club of Kenosha, Wisconsin will demonstrate how to cook some classic supper club fare—and samples will be provided.

Take this free trip down Pan-Fried Memory Lane 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7 at the Kenmore Live Studio, located at 678 N. Wells St. in Chicago. And for New Year’s-resolution dieters and/or those more inclined to watch from home, the presentation will also be streaming live online.
