Chicago film blog F This Movie! sets up its first Twitter film festival
Sooner or later, everyday life will completely go to Twitter. Date night, work conferences, therapy sessions, all on the blue bird. But for now, Chicago-based film blog F This Movie! will settle for a Twitter-based film festival being held online Feb. 4.
Celebrating the 100th episode of the F This Movie! podcast, founder Patrick Bromley went the cyber route for his fest due to a large international audience. Convening at a singular location that leaves some folks on the cutting room floor goes against the purpose of the blog, which is to discuss and enjoy cinema with film geeks all over the world.
The lineup will consist of films released in Bromley’s favorite year, 1982. Blade Runner, Fast Times At Ridgemont High, Dark Crystal, The Road Warrior, and the sequel of all sequels—Stark Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan—will be watched globally at the same time.
All participants have to do is get a copy of the films (most are on Netflix instant), log onto Twitter Feb. 4, and voila.
