How well do cupcakes and beer go together?
For almost every Valentine’s Day event, an anti-Valentine’s Day special or singles mixer follows. This one doesn’t sound too painful, though—singles aren’t separated like lepers from the happy couples, and there’s a slew of hoppy beers on tap.
This year, being single is not as important as, say, having 21 years of life experience under your belt at Jerry’s Sandwiches in Wicker Park for an event called Double IPAs For Single People. This could be one of only a few chances to drink Bell’s Hopslam and Founders Double Trouble, as both are released only once a year. The tap list features other double IPAs like Three Floyds Dreadnaught and Arctic Panzer Wolf, Dogfish Head 90 minute IPA, Half Acre Daly Double, and Local Option American Muscle, among others. The event lasts from 5 p.m. until close, regardless of whether you’re getting laid this V-Day.
